Current research

Merridy is currently investigating midfoot osteoarthritis. Her research is focused on understanding how foot structure and function differ between people with and without midfoot osteoarthritis. She is specifically looking at the shape of the foot (using a 3D scanner, x-rays, and MRI imaging), muscle strength, range of movements within the joints, and the kinematics and kinetics of how people walk and undertake functional tasks. This research will assist in elucidating the underlying mechanisms responsible for its development and inform treatment decisions.
